Summer paradise, 10 km SE of Västerås centre, with wildlife on your doorstep. Quiet and peaceful – as far away from stress and the rush of city life as you can get. Södra Björnö has everything children could wish for: shallow sandy beaches, wide-open grassy plains, woods and hillsides, football fields, fishing, boats and playgrounds with swings, slides, climbing frames and sand boxes etc.

The area has 55 electrically heated self-catering holiday cottages, of which 50 with room and equipment for four people and 5 holiday cottages with space and beds for six people. The holiday cottages are simply furnished and equipped with refrigerator, hotplate and kitchen utensils such as cutlery, glasses and crockery. Bedding and towels are not provided. There is also a shared shower, toilet and laundry facilities nearby. The holiday cottages are beautifully located by the edge of the forest.

7 km SW of Västerås centre by Lake Mälaren. Open all-year. Reception, shop/kiosk, laundry, swimming, playground, parking, walks, postal service. Eight self-catering holiday cottages with three to six beds. The cottages have kitchens with an oven and hob, microwave oven, coffee maker, refrigerator, TV, hot and cold running water, toilet and shower. Cabins are also available.

12 cottages with 2-8 beds beautifully situated in the natural surroundings of Björnö. 40 beds in all, as well as a partnership with neighbouring site that can provide a further 15 beds. The cottages have various standards ranging from state-of-the-art to charmingly rustic. Nine of the cottages are on the north side of the island, Granbo.The holiday village has its own sauna and pier. There is a nice swimming area with a small sand beach and cliffs just 200 m from the cottages.
 
Björnösand is in the middle of Björnö and is an outdoor swimming area that boasts Västerås’ longest shoreline. There is also a summer café near the swimming site. Two of the cottages are just above the beach and a third is only 150 m away. The island is a natural reserve and home to fallow deer and mistletoe, Västmanland’s provincial flower. You do not need a permit to fish in Lake Mälaren, and the waters around the island are rich with pike, perch and pike-perch. In Björngården’s reception area you will also find a restaurant, conference and banquet facilities, canoe rental, adventure activities, billiards and adventure golf. The beautiful natural surroundings of Björnö are located on a lengthy lake island 7 km southeast of Västerås centre.
